Our client s a pharmaceutical and biotechnological company focused on prevention and diagnosis for animal and human health, with a broad range of highly innovative vaccines and an advanced diagnostic service with a solid international presence in more than 40 countries, with its own subsidiaries, 11 diagnostic centres and 6 production plants strategically located in Europe (Spain) and America (Brazil). Research and Development constitute the core of its knowledge. They dedicate 15% of its annual turnover to R&D activities that concentrate on the creation and application of the latest scientific advances to the development of the highest quality innovative vaccines. To give added value to its vaccination experience, the company also develops medical devices and traceability services. We are looking for a talented Fully or Partially Qualified European Patent Attorney for our Headquarter in Girona (Spain) Functions - Assessing innovative R&D developments with scientific staff and business units and providing IP advisory service - Preparation of patent landscape and FTO analysis for EU and global R&D pipeline - Performing state of the art and patentability search reports - Maintenance of internal IP and corresponding databases - Global Prosecution of patents rights - Participating and dealing with drafting oppositions/appeal proceedings and observations before the EPO - Providing validity opinions and infringement advice to the relevant R&D and business units- Establishing confidentiality actions to ensure the maintenance of IP - Technical support for business development Requirements - EQE (European Qualifying Examination) fully or partly passed. (mandatory) - Solid scientific background like bachelor’s degree in biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceuticals or related disciplines in the Life Science field. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as in searching for and preparing reports on patentability and FTO (Freedom to Operate) opinions, - Experience in biologicals and biotech products would be appreciated - Excellent command in English and Spanish. French and German will be a plus - Strong technical, writing, communication and analytical skills - Able to analyse large volumes of data to suggest commercial and actionable decisions - Strong organizational, planning and time management skills, to design, monitor and enforce IP work plans - Highly responsible and able to manage strict deadlines, be meticulous with attention to detail and be able to efficiently prioritize high R&D portfolio workloads Reasons to join our client - To be involved in relevant cases and long term projects which provide the opportunity to expand knowledge and experience, - Growing multinational company with 40 subsidiaries worldwide - Multicultural environment within the different teamwork - Promotion of training and development plans Equal opportunity to all of its employees.
