FUNCTIES

Our client, an international company operating across Europe, is currently looking for a Chief Accountant/Senior Accountant in Barcelona. In this key role, you will be the focal point for finance & accounting activities in the country. Your responsibilities: - Lead Month-End Close (MEC) activities and the preparation & submission of local Spanish statements. - Ensure and manage the relationships with outsource Tax service providers. - Manage the annual closing process and financial audit. - Supervise a small accounting team. - Reconcile General Ledger (GL), subsidiary ledger, and intercompany settlements to ensure accurate financial records & compliance. - Continuously identify process improvements and implement best practices (including automation solutions and new tools/systems to enhance efficiency of external reporting). Your profile: - Deep technical accounting knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PCGA). - Minimum 4 years of experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant or Independent Accountant. - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment. - Fluent English is a must. - Experience with MS Excel and MS Dynamics is an advantage.
