Descripción
The Staff Estimator will be responsible for performing Class 3, 4 and 5 estimates, developing bid check estimates and take-offs for EPC and construction only Transmission & Distribution projects. This position will develop accurate bottom-up estimates and take-offs in a credible and professional manner while minimizing risk to the company.
JOB DUTIES
Develop factored and bottoms up Class 5, 4 and 3 (conceptual, feasibility and budget authorization) estimates for transmission and distribution projects (lines and stations)
Support estimating strategy and implementation efforts.
Support development of estimate schedules to manage workload and ensure timely completion of estimates
Review RFP and engineering documents for gaps and overlaps in scope of work
Responsible for detailed documentation of quantity take offs and supporting constructability analysis
Responsible for the accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptions
Review project summary schedules for validity.
Support the development of risk registers and assist risk review process.
Review commercial terms and conditions and address risk issues.
Responsible for compliance with estimating methodology ensuring quality estimates are produced.
Support subcontractor pre-qualification, solicitation and bid reviews.
Responsible for reviewing and incorporating specialty and standard equipment and material pricing.
Estimate general conditions, indirect costs and review with project management team
Support the review of final estimate and presentation to management
Support the presentation of the estimate to internal and external clients.
Participate in recommendations as to fee, contingency and escalation.
Participate in review and validation of value engineering items, alternates and options.
Participate in estimating teams for performance of pre-construction services.
Responsible for updating cost history and database management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
4 years of experience with transmission and distribution EPC or construction contractors estimating or in the field
Prefer candidate have knowledge and experience developing estimates and bidding T&D construction work
Must be familiar with factors that affect work productivity, be able to identify them and appropriately incorporate them into cost estimates
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
May be required to obtain an OSHA 10 hour safety certification
