Lisbon (Portugal)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Key Account Manager (KAM) Retail for the Portuguese subsidiary of a German multinational company in the food industry. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Lisbon, reporting directly to the Country Manager Portugal. You will be instrumental in consolidating and driving the growth of the operations of our client, a market with a current revenue of €8 million and significant growth potential. As a crucial member of a small, dedicated team in Portugal, you will manage new and existing national and international retail customers, including major players like Pingo Doce and Sonae. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of the Portuguese market, working closely with Regional Teams and international production plants in Europe. Your expertise will be vital in expanding their market presence and achieving ambitious growth targets.
- Participate actively in defining the sales strategy for Portugal, ensuring its successful achievement and exceeding agreed growth targets by developing both existing and new markets and customers.
- Provide qualitative follow-up to existing customers, acting as their primary contact point to foster strong relationships and develop current accounts.
- Understand customer strategies, brands, and expectations to propose value-added solutions, positioning the company as a reliable partner and creating virtuous growth opportunities.
- Implement and lead active commercial campaigns for new customers and new product introductions.
- Defend margin and turnover objectives in collaboration with management, negotiating effectively with customers and optimizing pricing policies and product ranges in line with company guidelines.
- Ensure comprehensive and timely reporting of all commercial activities.
Must-Haves:
- University degree
- 3-5 years of commercial experience (both 'farmer' and 'hunter' skills) in sales within the Retail channel business.
- Essential experience with packaged products in the retail sector.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- Native or bilingual proficiency in Portuguese.
- Competent business user of IT systems.
- Availability to travel.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience in the food market
- Experience with MDD / Private Label products.
