Environmental Engineer

Job Description:

From Catenon, we are collaborating with Contemporary Star Energy (CES), a joint venture driven by Stellantis focused on the development and supply of advanced energy solutions, particularly in te field of batteries and electrification. We are looking for an Environmental engineer to join our team and be responsible for the implementation of the company's environmental protection laws and policies, ensuring that production operations comply with national and local environmental protection requirements.

What will be your mission?
Ensure environmental compliance within the plant, leading permitting processes, waste management, environmental monitoring, audits, and sustainability initiatives, while supporting operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure environmental compliance, permitting, and pollutant-discharge management.
- Support the development and implementation of the Gigafactory Waste Management Concept and ISO 14001.
- Lead environmental monitoring, reporting, and internal/external audits.
- Advise teams across planning and operations and deliver environmental training.
- Coordinate with authorities and support emergency plans, drills, and incident response.
- Update environmental permit documentation and follow up on defined measures.
- Organize environmental monitoring data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Promote sustainability initiatives and contribute to the company’s ESG goals.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in an environmental role, preferably in manufacturing, battery, or chemical environments.
- Strong knowledge of European, Spanish, and local environmental regulations.
- Knowledge of waste management and ISO 14001.
- Good level of English (minimum B2). Fluent Spanish.
- Availability to work on-site in Figueruelas.
