Industrial Engineer

Job Description:

The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for:
Designing, optimizing, and modernizing Agroatlas’ processing plant and operational systems in
Agadir.
The mission is not only technical execution, but building a scalable operational backbone that
supports growth.
This role is about:
 Flow efficiency
 Cost reduction
 Automation
 Process discipline
 Data-driven operations

Responsibilities:

A. Processing Plant Optimization
• Analyze current processing flows (packing, labeling, cooling, paletization).
• Redesign plant layout to improve throughput.
• Identify bottlenecks and eliminate inefficiencies.
• Reduce cost per kilo through process improvement.
• Implement lean methodologies adapted to agricultural seasonality.

B. Automation & Mechanization
o Evaluate and implement:
o Automated labeling systems
o Sorting and grading technologies
o Conveyor and flow optimization
o Cold chain monitoring systems
o. Work with suppliers (including China and Europe) to:
o Compare technical alternatives
o Evaluate ROI
o Oversee installation and commissioning

C. Cost Reduction Initiatives
Target areas include:
• Packaging optimization
• Labor productivity per line
• Cooling and energy efficiency
• Handling losses
• Field-to-warehouse interface efficiency
The objective is measurable cost reduction (e.g., cents per kilo impact at scale).

D. Process & KPI Discipline
o. Implement structured operational KPIs:
o Productivity per line
o Yield per batch
o Rework rates
o Order fulfillment accuracy
o Align commercial forecasts with operational planning.
o Improve ERP usage and system discipline.

E. Scaling Readiness
o Design systems that can handle:
o Increased volume
o Additional hectares
o New product categories
o Support expansion into new regions by defining replicable operational models.

Requirements:

 Degree in:
o Industrial Engineering
o Mechanical Engineering
o Production Engineering
o Or equivalent

Experience
 5–10+ years in:
o Industrial operations
o Food processing plants
o FMCG manufacturing
o Lean production environments

Experience in agriculture or fresh produce is a strong plus.

Technical Skills
 Process flow analysis
 Automation project management
 ROI calculation for capital investments
 ERP/process integration
 Cost modeling
 Cold chain understanding

Languages
 Arabic: Required
 French: Strongly valued
 Spanish or English: Required for coordination with leadership
