FUNCTIONS
We are currently looking for a Category Lead Buyer for raw materials who will be responsible of securing a multi-year uninterrupted supply of selected category materials in the factories at competitive cost and quality compliance. You will develop category knowledge and work cross functionally across responsible spend areas and prepare, lead and execute global strategic sourcing initiatives as agreed with the line manager with a view of becoming a category expert.
As key responsibilities we can highlight the following:
- Responsible for the sourcing of the portfolio entrusted, being specialist in the markets with a competitive advantage and continuous improvement by minimizing spend.
- Perform global internal and external analysis, generate local opportunity proposals and provide input into global opportunity assessment.
- Define, leads and implement successfully global purchasing strategies and/or action plans by category and execute and/or supervise negotiations with suppliers about price, quality and delivery conditions of materials.
- Mobilizes the business to implement category plans.
- Provide the company with a competitive advantage
- Reports and explains negotiation results and impact within the company.
- Feedstock and market assumptions translated into annual budget and quarterly reforecast of portfolio spend.
- Ensure up-to-date and correct purchasing data and related information in the information systems.
- Build on and develop the supply base to ensure the capacity and flexibility to meet all of the organizations
requirements.
- Manage suppliers professionally and proactively to ensure a high level of supplier performance.
- Ensures the legal framework and codes and guidelines are applied in tenders, negotiations and contracts.
- Leads resolution of any escalation of issues with supplier.
- Sets key performance indicators.
- Engage and influence stakeholders.
For this exciting role we require:
- University degree in business, finance, commercial, economics or engineering
- 5-6 years in FMCG in a Procurement role
- A proven ability to lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, directly linked to COGs and/or overhead budgets and success in getting projects implemented.
- Experience within global, multicultural organizations and proven ability to lead and work effectively with people from different cultures and in various cross functional teams.
- Computer literacy in SAP and Microsoft Office
- High English level (spoken and written)
- Analytical skills
- Proactive in identifying and solving problems
- Ability to work autonomously across a variety of projects and work under pressure.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and projects.
