Our client, with over 40 years of experience in the sector, it has built world-renowned plants, including some of the largest desalination plants in the Middle East and Asia, contributing to improved quality of life for millions of people. Furthermore, it employs advanced technologies to optimize water use and minimize its environmental impact. The Casablanca Desalination Plant, developed by our client will be built in southwestern Casablanca to supply drinking water to Casablanca, Settat, Mohammedia, Benslimane, and Bouznika. Using reverse osmosis technology, it will efficiently desalinate seawater to meet the region's water demands. The plant will have an initial production capacity of 548,000 m³ per day, expandable to 822,000 m³. Construction is set to begin in late 2024, with operations expected to start in 2027. This project aligns with Morocco's sustainability goals, addressing water scarcity in the area.

FUNCTIONS

The Civil Engineering Lead for the Casablanca Desalination Plant will be responsible for overseeing the Civil Engineering function during the execution phase. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary internal team of civil engineering specialists across various disciplines and reporting hierarchically to the Construction Manager. Its main functions will be: Project Execution Management: - Lead and supervise the execution of various phases in civil engineering related to the project, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and quality standards. - Coordinate different project execution phases with internal and external teams in civil disciplines (earthworks, structures, etc.). - Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to established deadlines and budgets. Technical Supervision: - Ensure technical specifications and project-related documentation throughout each phase and from suppliers. - Supervise material quality and construction procedures on-site through regular inspections. Team Management: - Coordinate various work teams (internal and external). - Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians on-site. Risk and Sustainability Management: - Identify and mitigate technical and execution risks during the execution phase. - Promote sustainable solutions in material use and construction processes aligned with Acciona's environmental objectives. SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Leadership and ability to manage technical and construction teams in multicultural environments. - Planning and project management skills. - Goal-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines and associated costs. - Excellent communication skills. KNOWLEDGE - Strongly valued knowledge or experience in water treatment plant projects or hydraulic infrastructure. - Highly valued advanced knowledge in international construction standards and quality management. - Proficiency in MS Project. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - University degree in Civil Engineering or related fields. - Minimum of 5 years' experience in large-scale civil infrastructure projects, preferably including water treatment plants. - Proficiency in English is essential. Conversational proficiency in French and Spanish is valued positively.
