Our client, a global industry leader in the renewable energy sector, is looking for a CAPEX Manager (m/f/d) to join their team in Berlin.
This position will play a relevant role in supporting both Projects and Business Development in Germany and other European countries. You will actively work with different stakeholders, including legal services, insurance, procurement, global technical services, risks, control, promotion, engineering, construction, investment office, corporate security and local contractors & suppliers, to ensure the portfolio is developed and built.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate the different units involved in determining the cost estimate (CAPEX) for future Onshore renewable projects, such as Wind, PV and BESS
• Coordinate the technical-economic homogenization of the main equipment
• Lead technical-commercial relations with contractors
• Lead the preparation of tender documentation and manage the technical contracting process for BOP contractors
• Lead contractual and technical Due Diligence processes, coordinating external consultants and internal support teams
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, related field or equivalent combination of education
• 5+ years’ experience in the energy industry, ideally in tenders and contracts negotiations with German contractors
• Experience in wind / solar / BESS projects
• German and English (full professional competence); Spanish is a plus
• Technical skills with the ability to balance and prioritize competing interests
• Demonstrated ability to navigate through technical questions
• Extensive knowledge of PV and/or Wind power plants construction companies
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, effectively managing and interfacing with cross-functional internal groups of all levels and competencies
• Good oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
• Entrepreneur, self-starter, eager to learn
Desired skills:
• Great capacity for autonomy, ability to manage teams in other departments, speed in making decisions about possible risks and costs (millions) for the company
• Great self-control, patience, empathy, thoroughness and development of long-term relationships with strategic contractors and partners for the company
• Large CAPEX will be managed, so a great deal of experience is recommended
• Proven success in working with international project teams in diverse and often complex working environments
